on page 37 $ ansible multi -m file -a "dest=/tmp/test mode=644 state=directory"

644 is just unusual for a directory and I imagined you'd wanted to demonstrate the effect of 'mode=...' as well;... 750 or 700 (just to avoid the default 755) should be a better choice... thx for you book!! Michael
