Install Klipper firmware on Ender 3 S1, use with OctoPrint

See install guide: Klipper Installation.

It looks like I would need to use the Ender 3 S1 config. Would be good to flip the printer and check what microcontroller is on the printer board (there are two different models out there).

Bonus: You can still use the LCD display with the Pi... though the wiring for that looks a little annoying. Would be nice to find a good way to mount up the Pi on the printer or under the display?

stm32-ender3s1

My S1 has the STM32F401 chip. It looks like older S1s had a different chip.

Another couple options to test out include:

I have given away the S1 to my Dad; if he wants to do Klipper he can, but I figure he may just enjoy printing with the stability of officially-supported firmware :)
