878UV PF3 function triggered by other function key

Open Fiskmun opened this issue 3 years ago • 4 comments

The function programmed for short press of PF3 randomly gets activated by P1 or P2.
So press P1 short and it expected to shifts between A and B channel (which is the function for P1 in this case) but instead it toggles the power levels (which is the function for PF3). And sometimes it actually does both.. And sometimes it is P2 doing this instead. Pressing some other buttons a couple of times usually clears the issue.

The radio has been totally reset , updated, codeplug from scratch etc. but the behaviour still occurs every now and then. It has also been verified that there are no duplicate settings (e.g. same function on two keys etc.).

Also noticing this after the v1.24N firmware update, seems to only be a problem if I have a sub channel on. If I have a sub channel disabled then the power does not change. I am noticing that this only happens with my P1 key.

I actually had this issue with version 1.22 and 1.23 also and I saw some similar comments in a forum somewhere but it does not seem to be a widespread issue. So it must be depending on a certain combination of settings and usage. I was not aware of the relation to the sub channel but that also appear to be a factor then.

Im not sure if it happened on 1.23 for me as I didn't have that firmware for long till I upgraded to the latest 1.24N firmware from anytone.net; as and when I find the time to do so I will downgrade back to 1.23 and see if this error persists.

Same issue on a D878UVII Plus with the newest firmware 2.04. The only other report I could find about this is https://www.reddit.com/r/AnyTone/comments/n9aeyc/878uv_buggy_button_behavior/.
