Small list of D878 issues
All these issues on D878 with latest firmware (1.10)
- On the radio, under the menu: Settings, Chan Set, DMR Mode - selecting "Simplex" has the result of setting "Through Mode" in the PC software app against that channel's configuration. That radio menu has 3 possible options: Simplex, Repeater, and Double Slot - but this is not reflected in the PC software, as only that one check box called Through Mode is shown (appearing to reflect the simplex option being chosen). A better option would surely be a drop-down containing the three possible options for DMR Mode instead of the Through mode check box.
- On the radio, under the menu: Settings, Chan Set, Rx Group List, There is no Option for "None". Although if the channel is configured in the PC software, the None option exists. If setting a channel with 'None' in the PC software, then downloading the codeplug with that setting to the radio, the Chan Set, Rx Group List menu again just shows the first Receive group which is configured as the highlighted option - This is highly ambiguous.
- On the radio, under the menu: Settings, Chan Set, Rx Group List, if a group list is chosen/entered, then 'Select Curr List' (such that that list is assigned to the current channel). Then the codeplug is uploaded to the PC software from the radio - the Rx group list setting made on the radio is not reflected against that channel in the PC software, which shows the Receive Group List as 'None' still.
- On the Radio, the menu option: Settings, Chan Set, Slot Suit, has no compatible option within the PC software.
- On the radio, the menu option: Settings, Chan Set, APRS Receive, has no compatible option within the PC software.
- Lock key option should actually lock the keyboard - it doesn't! It seems to only lock the menu button from being used. To lock the keyboard, the manual advises a long press of the * key - which reports "keys locked" when you do this. If you press the Menu button it then says "push * to unlock key", which again works and reports "key unlock". With the keys locked however you can still perform short/long presses of the PF and P keys, and both the number pad and zone up/dn rocker function. Is there a way to actually lock the keyboard? Without this I find I'm pressing keys whilst the radio is clipped to my backpack straps - I managed to get it scanning today without realising it. We really need a means of locking the keyboard.
- When scanning a group of channels (my P2 key short-click setup to start/stop scanning), if I click the P key to stop scanning, the current channel reverts to that which was originally set (before the scan started).
An example of what I would prefer - I start a scan, find an active channel with lots of chat, want to remain on that channel indefinitely, so click the P2 button to end the scan - I want to remain on that channel I found, but am sent back to the original channel. An option to choose which mode would be awesome.
