What is PlatformIO and what should the plugin do?
Plugins are written by individuals if they need it. You might be lucky and someone wants to create such a plugin.

For the rest, I wouldn't know either, but plugins are welcome if it's useful to people.
PlatformIO is a full-blown IDE! It's like asking for turning a pocket calculator into a cloud server... or a swiss watch into a coffee machine... or... Whatever, you get the idea. If you like PlatformIO, then why not use it, there's little point in turning a full-blown IDE with its own paradigm and code base into another one that is completely different. Unless you asked for something else, of course (with so few words it's hard to tell what you're asking for, exactly, indeed).

@tinkercnc it would help if you could write a few lines about what PlatformIO does and what a Geany plugin for PlatformIO should look like.
Since it seems there is no one here who knows or uses PlatformIO, you might be more lucky asking in the PlatformIO community if there is someone interested in writing a plugin for Geany.
