Changing the display name and hardware id of the monitor

The monitor is called "Generic Display (Linux FHD)" and the hwid is "LNX0000". Is it possible to change this?

I think "Linux FHD" comes from the EDID data, https://github.com/ge9/IddSampleDriver/blob/2737d7414f6692a17aa39914d7f0346b52176b96/IddSampleDriver/Driver.cpp#L403 thus changeable if you re-build it (I currently don't have time to do this). I'm not sure for other things ("Generic Display" and "LNX0000").

I think Windows refuses to recognize the EDID even if I change only one letter. : ( There must be some registry of known EDIDs, I suppose.

Ah, nevermind, I forgot about the checksum byte!

I think I have used this (free) software to edit EDID data. https://www.deltacast.tv/products/free-software/e-edid-editor
