Feature Request MIC-E
Hi,
is it possible to implement MIC-E for transmission?
Thanks
73 Stephan
I am not the developer, but I did find this, which is a work in progress:
https://github.com/chucklin85
Well, after a lot of tribulation I was able to get the source to compile.
I combined chucklin85 code with mapsforge branch from here. It is not MIC-E, but it is compressed APRS:

I found this about mic-e: http://www.aprs.org/doc/APRS101.PDF

Do you still have this? It looks like you trashed it in your Drive. Do you have the code still as well?
Any chance of merging this to the latest builds? This would be a great addition.
@na7q I took a look at the Git branch that @mpannen1979 mentioned, but it appears to be for compressed location beacons as described in APRS 1.0.1 section 9, and not Mic-E format as described in section 10. I will take a look and see if that code can be applied to the latest APRSdroid or any code you might have to support Mic-E.
I'd like to see a compressed MicE transmit as well. it's the only way to trigger an "EMERGENCY!" position comment, which lights up most near by radios in an emergency. aprsdroid can't do the equivalent of 911 at the moment.
