⌘+left and ⌘+right don't work as expected

Open zeke-earthling opened this issue 2 years ago • 1 comments

Describe the bug

Normally on a Mac, pressing ⌘+left and ⌘+right move your cursor to the very start or end of the current line of text (like using 0 and $ in Vim). However, in the Vomnibar, these shortcuts move the cursor only one word at a time, which are what ⌥+left and ⌥+right are for (the ⌥ shortcuts work as expected).

To Reproduce

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Press o or b to open the Vomnibar.
  2. Type a few words.
  3. Press ⌘ and the left arrow key at the same time. Instead of going to the start of what's been written, your cursor moves only one word to the left.
  4. Press ⌘ and the right arrow key at the same time. Instead of going to the end of what's been written, your cursor moves only one word to the right.

Browser, OS and Vimium C versions

  • Browser name: Chrome
  • Browser version: 115.0.5790.170
  • Vimium C version: 1.99.99
  • OS name and version: macOS Ventura, v13.5

Um it was designed to do so, just because I seldom use the "go to start/end" by Meta+Left/Right - I personally prefer Fn+Left/Right instead.

Now that you have asked, I'll change this behavior to align with macOS' default key mappings.
