Norton AntiVirus removed Z80Explorer.exe

Open prlaba opened this issue 2 years ago • 2 comments

When I attempted to unzip the latest version of Z80Explorer, my Norton ani-virus app running in the background removed the Z80Explorer.exe file, claiming it was unsafe.

Is there a way to verify that the file hasn't been hacked?

Thanks.

I just run the same file through virus total https://www.virustotal.com/gui/home/upload It did not detect any threat. Norton might just have given a false positive; it is highly unlikely that someone could replace a zip, on github, with a malicious version, never heard of something like that happening. If you can't whitelist it, then compiling it yourself could be a painful, but viable, option.

I added the file to Norton's whitelist (I added the entire folder) and the file was no longer removed.

Thanks.
