Feature Request: select alternate delivery for 2FA

so i mainly use Android/Linux devices, but i have my family's apple devices integrated via iCloud3. i have an apple account, but only an ancient MacBook that is my only Apple device, and it's the one trusted device. i do have my android phone set up as my trusted phone number on my Apple account. I am able to log into account.apple.com by clicking on "can't get to your MacBook?"

the feature request is to implement a choice in the way iCloud3 requests the 2FA code. right now it will only go to the trusted device, but i would love the option to specify to send the code to my trusted phone number instead.

do you think that would be something that could be added?

I do not see this being done. The number of people who you use this is very limited and working with Apple accounts is very complicated. My next project will be to support FIDO2 hardware keys go authentication. Perhaps that will solve your authentication issue.

You can have several devices set as trusted devices that will receive the code, not just yours. I would set up another trusted device and use that for code entry

oh i didn't think of that approach. but the hardware key does seem like a nice alternative as well. thanks for responding, though!
