iCloud3 ➤ v3.2 -- Questions & Answers
Q-01 will iCloud3 ever support Apple Accounts secured my security sticks - aka yubikey. As i tested by today with v3.2, it is not supported yet (or i made a mistake / miss some step)
I have 2 YubiKeys and tried to get them working without success. Apple does not provide a web url that I could find to tie the YubiKey response to the needed authenticate access to the Apple account to a web endpoint that would be used by iCloud3.
If you ever find one or know of another web based program that works, let me know and I'll try again.
I'm sorry but I don't know if this problem existed before or was introduced with v3.2. Anyway, I don't seem to be able to change from Imperial to Metric in iCloud v3, so the entities relating to distance all are in Miles. I also can't change from 12h to 24h time setting. When I try I get an error message "Unknown error occurred" and the HA logs don't say anything about it. When I check the settings again I can see they now are set to Metric and 24h, but after reloading iCloud3 they are back to Imperial and 12h.
Problem solved. But now I noticed iCloud v3 keeps telling me it's v3.2.1. I have (re)downloaded v3.2.2 twice now and restarted HA, but it still seems to be v3.2.1. Do I do something wrong here?
@ahamro The version is stored in the icloud3/const.py file. It looks like I forgot to change it to v3.2.2 before the update. Ignore the message and I’ll issue another release with the correct version.
Did you also notice the optical problem in the upper right corner of my screenshot, where 'Log' is printed through the text 'Ton iPhone'? This is in the HA companion app.
I had not noticed it until you mentioned it. The browser screen is too narrow so the fields are being wrapped. Widen the browser window and it will look normal.
I have just uploaded v3.2.2 (Real version is v3.2.2). It is now available on HACS as v3.2.2.1.
No, the screen shot is of the HA companion app on an iPad. I don't think I can widen anything there.
I'm sorry to be constantly bothering you, but here goes: When I now redownload iCloud3 v3.2.2.1 I get this message after restarting HA and emptying the buffer:
- v3.2.2.2 just uploaded to HACS. I thought my HACS update checker only went to the v3.2.2 range but was wrong. Thanks for the note. Update the information, redownload & restart.
- About the iPad - At the top left, hide the sidebar by clicking the =< icon, that will give the Companion Browser more real estate. Also, you may have the zoom level higher than the standard which will cause the text to be enlarged and wrap to the next line.
How do I delete a dashboard I created with icloud3?
When I tried to delete the dashboard in settings -> dashboard (icloud3-0 or icloud3-1) window, I can press Delete; then Delete again to acknowledge it; and the dashboard doesn't go away.
When I select "Admin only" or "Show in sidebar" and click Update it says "Unable to find dashboard_id ic3db_icloud3_1".
Is there a trick to delete the dashboards?

I suppose you emptied the cache of your UI ?

Hm, I think there is a misunderstanding. This is about a question from @bakerkj , who says he did exactly what you suggest. I merely tried to help and asked about clearing the UI cache.
@ahamro The GitHub app I was using would only display the last comment on a message so I thought it was you who had asked. That app has been annoying so it is now gone.
@bakerkj When you delete a dashboard from HA, HA deletes it from the Lovelace dashboard config file but not the HA internal dashboard table. Also, HA has a config file write delay. iCloud3 was working around this by keeping track of the newly added dashboards since it did not know which of those items applied. I have changed it to assume the deleted option and, if you added a dashboard and then deleted it, it will not be display in the list. This will be in the next update.
A HA restart resets everything and it will not appear in your release.

I have a question regarding the zone distance sensor and specifically the max distance attribute on it. When exactly does this max distance reset to 0? From the doc I read, it seems like it automatically resets to 0 whenever I exit my home zone? However I had this weird case and was trying to understand what's going on here:
- traveled away from home, max distance ended up being 35 (unit is in mi I believe)
- Came home, max distance is still 35
- Left home again to walk around house, max distance reset to 0 and stayed at 0 since I never went >= 1 mile away from home (this is expected and what I wanted)
- Came home, max distance is 0 (nice!), but then soon after it became 35 again which caused one of my automation to trigger unexpectedly (not what I wanted)
I'm kind of confused on what happened at step 4 here. I would have assumed it would have stayed at 0, but why did it go back to 35?
@torranceminhvu As far as I recall, it is set to 0 when you leave the zone or shortly after entering a zone. That code was done several years ago and I do not remember the intricate details. If there was a restart, the value may have been restored to the previous value which may have been the 35 value from the last result calculation instead of the 0 value.
