Set Stationary Zone as Passive
Just a feature request to set Stationary Zone as Passive because I notice on person badge it would erratically display the person status as "Away", "dales_iphone_stationary", "jess_iphone_stationary", etc. This affected non-iCloud devices such as my dog's GPS tracker because HA determined that my dog is either within one of those stationary zones.
Has anyone found a work-around for this? I just want the person badges to say my custom zones not icloud3's stationary temp zones. It seems that if we could make them passive our issues would be resolved. +1 anyways.
Edit, I'm on iCloud3-v3 beta so am in the wrong place. Maybe someone on v2 found a workaround?
iCloud3 checks to make sure it does not put one device in another devices Stationary zone The ios app can put one device in another’s StatZone and iCloud3 checks for it so I can see where the Person would do the same. The Person looks at the latitude/longitude of the device and goes through the HA zones and puts it in the zone if it finds a match, as you are seeing.
There are 2 things about making it passive. It will not appear on the HA Map (not sure if it needs to but is nice that it does) and the ios app might not do a Zone Exit Trigger when the device leaves the Stat Zone, which it needs to do and is important. I’ll check it out but do not think it will be possible to make it passive.
BTW-You can create an iCloud3 issue by selecting the bug icon abbe Actions on the Event Log and it is posted on the v3 repository. Easer for me to keep track of them. I rarely monitor this for v3 issues for follow up. You mar want to readd it there.
A thought - In v3, you can further customize the Friendly name of a device Stationary zone on the Update Devices screen. Mine is GaryZone, My wife’s is LillianZone. Then the Person badge for your dog would show as being with you in your Stationary Zone.
Setting it to passive will not work.
