Dashboard Visualisations only get data from first grouped level of table making top n bottom n selection impossible

At them moment visualisations get data from tables at the topmost grouped level. If this were changed to be the level with the most detail then table data could be constructed to show top n or bottom n results and the nested table detail could be provided to visualisations.
