Refactor integration tests

The integration tests haven't looked at for a while. When working on the pull request #2715 this problem became apparent. @GCHQDeveloper314 has also noted that the inheritance depth may be too high. The entire integration tests require refactoring so that these and as yet undiscovered problems can be rectified.
