Bug report: Operations requires double-click but doesn't mention this

Open mathjeff opened this issue 2 years ago • 3 comments

Describe the bug I'm finding that when I click an operation (like "To Base64"), nothing happens. I later discovered that double-clicking the operation caused the operation to be added to the recipe, but I didn't expect that to be required at first.

To Reproduce

  1. Open CyberChef
  2. Click on an operation (like "To Base64")
  3. Observe that nothing appears to happen
  4. Double-click that operation
  5. See that after double-clicking the operation, it gets added to the recipe

Expected behaviour At step 3 I was expecting the operation to appear (like in step 5) without having to double-click the operation.

Is this intended?

If it's not feasible to make single-click work (perhaps other people are accustomed to it not adding the operation to the recipe), it could be nice if the tooltip could mention that double-click is required.

Thanks

Perhaps it's a common understanding, which may be why it wasn't mentioned in the tooltip.

Adding an operation can be done by either double-click or drag and drop.

I use double-click if it is just a quick 1-step receipe or I need to operation added to the bottom of the recipe Drag and drop if there are more steps and I need control where to insert the operation

I think double-click is deliberate so you don't add operations by accident.

Doubleclicks do not seem not work in Chrome on Android. And the drag and drop was not obvious to me. So I was quite puzzled...
