To add fuel to the fire, this would be really helpful as AWS CloudWatch Log Insights queries' parse command use glob, as do things like .gitignore and other commonly used simple pattern writing. I know I may get flak for commenting on a 1 1/2 year-old feature request, but it's either this or making a new duplicate feature request.
