MBC3 RAM banks unclear

The page detailing the MBC3 has a discontinuity around the number of RAM banks and how they are indexed. At the top, it states that there is a maximum of 4 banks. However, the table explaining how indexing into the RTC/RAM bank works states that writing a value between 0 and 7 will cause the "corresponding" bank to be mapped into that memory region. This implies that there are at most 8 RAM banks.

I believe that MBC3 has a limit of 4 banks, but the JP Crystal-exclusive MBC30 has double. We should only talk about the format, and mention MBC30's differences in a later section of the page.
