Have you considered "Top GitHub Users By Stars"?

I've already used this repo multiple times. This is the most up-to-date resource, also the easiest to work with.

I'm wondering if you considered counting stars as this is also an interesting indication.

i infact think that no. of stars is a better criteria as it is quite easy to fake contributions.
