Better seek control
I would love to have the fast-forward/rewind buttons that jump an interval of seconds. I use this feature in my favorite podcast app, and I find myself wanting to use it while listening to music as well.
Hi, thanks for your interesting request. Since the ability to seek within a song is already implemented we never thought about adding more buttons to the UI. Are you wanting an option to seek to a specific position in the track or just add several second?
I envision two buttons, one to subtract seconds, and the other to add seconds to the current track position. I typically find ±15s or ±30s buttons useful. The exact times may be configurable.
See Google Play Music podcast section for an example of seek buttons.
I would also appreciate that function.
If you don't want to "mess" the GUI with further elements: BubbleUPNP uses the buttons for go to last/next track if you press them several seconds. That would also be fine for me :)
@gnome17 The reason why the implemented function does not work very well for me is that I am hearing often long tracks (about 2 hours). Due to this I have problems to hit an exact time using the slider.
BTW I love the bookmarking function. This is the reason why I use Odyssey :)
Hi, thank you both for your input. We have to discuss this but we are currently a litte busy so it may take a while until we post an update to this topic.
I recently also found myself wishing for this functionality, especially when listening to podcasts. Trying to skip 30s in an hour-long file using the slider is really finnicky and hard.
I keep needing to use (the otherwise clunky) VLC app in order to navigate long tracks with buttons like these. Pleeeeease add it here
