What is the status of the php7 branch?

I build successfully build the php7 branch, but I am getting errors. when trying out the examples. Is the php7 branch still wip?

Anyone still working on it? Also, I see libgit2.org website pointing to this repo, but they also have one of their own https://github.com/libgit2/php-git Is this the upstream?

There hasn't been a commit since 2017 it appears. My hope is that FFI in 7.4 reignites development in this or another library.
