Animation flicker on items

Issue description:
Tried to build a version where the center item has a different color and opacity to the rest of the items, with transition. If number of items is even:

  • When you keep scrolling next, item 4 does a weird flash
  • When you keep scrolling previous item 3 flashes

If number of items is uneven:

  • When you keep scrolling next, item 2 does a weird flash
  • When you keep scrolling previous item 3 flashes
