Add folder to Favorites

I'm on macOS version 3.1.15 (3.1.15) and don't see a way to add a folder to the Favorites menu. The right-click menu doesn't have any options, nor do any type of star button show up when I check a folder.

Same, I'd be interested in learning how to add folders to the list of favorites.
