hotkeyable artifacts with curios support

Open Nicodemus111 opened this issue 11 months ago • 3 comments

Describe the feature

artifacts dont really need to take up hotbar space to function, it would be a lot cleaner if they could be attached to a belt or bandolier and equipped in a curios slot to enable the artifacts inside to be used with a hotkey. in addition, the artifacts could be visibly shown, the belt/bandolier dyed, and media phials could be attached at the hip like a flask.

Note that you can already do this with Hexical's evocation; or Hexical's telepathy combined with a repeated casting method like Hexal's wisps or Hexcassettes.

I feel like making artifacts hotkeyable would be pretty OP. Hex already takes way less hotbar space than a vanilla loadout if you're using a CAD and a spellbook - in that case you only need a single artifact.

i didnt know that hexical could do that, but im on forge so it wouldnt work for me. i think that other magic mods are a closer comparison to hexcasting than vanilla, most of those either only require you to hold a spellbook or only have a curio that enables hotkeys. i dont really think its op to declutter the inventory by allowing functions to be moved to buttons rather than items. the implementation could maybe require shulker shells to make the curio to hold cads, it would require multiple of the cads as well rather than just 1 and a spellbook so its a tradeoff for convenience at a much higher cost when compared to a spellbook and 1 cad.
