I've got a fork that I'm working on at the moment which adds macOS support and updates the Tesseract version to 4.0.0 (currently I'm just using HEAD of the repo and keeping it fairly up-to-date, while awaiting a formal release).

I'll turn it into a proper pull request soon. I've got a few more things that I need to clean up, but it's pretty usable as it is. If you've got questions then just let me know and I can try and help point you in the right direction.

For any future visitors, current latest AFAIK is this one (compiled against Tesseract 4.0) https://github.com/chaoskyme/Tesseract-OCR-iOS

And I am just working on upgrading it to Tesseract 4.1 here https://github.com/kenticomartinh/Tesseract-OCR-iOS/tree/4.1

Anyway ... way too many forks, and way too many unmaintained ones with poor documentation on compilation ... was a pain to follow up ... think about your future yourselves and other future maintainers the next time ;-)
