Tutorial added to ecology folder: "Visualization of Climate Data using NetCDF Xarray Map Plotting"

Open Quickbeasts51429 opened this issue 3 years ago • 10 comments

Also added a snippet in faqs section, as I didnot find a snippet for adding 'remote' files. The path is " faqs/galaxy/datasets_import_from_remote_files.md "

Find here a list of valid projections. Different projections have different purposes and need to be carefully chosen. Follow this sheet to find the syntax for projections. +> > +>> When it comes to conveying the correct information, through visualisation, colors play a major role. Suppose you want to display a cold region, its an obvious practice of using cooler tones such as a blue. Thus it is important to understand the choices we have. Find the complete documentation of ColorMaps available here

Make the changes in the tutorial. We will update the workflow later.

As far as I know jet is not a colorblind friendly colormap. For Earth Science, we usually recommend to use https://www.fabiocrameri.ch/colourmaps/ which I think are available in the xarray map tool.

Wonder Marie!!! Thank you !!!

@Marie59 we can add you, that's not a problem. But you can review anything even if you are not in any team.

bgruening avatar Jun 16 '22 19:06 bgruening

@Marie59 Did you have time to look at this training? Thanks.

@annefou yes I had time to look at it. It's great ! but I don't find the access to make a review.

You can start the review from the "Files" tab e.g. https://github.com/galaxyproject/training-material/pull/3481/files from there, click on review and approve/comment accordingly. Once you are happy with the final version, you can approve it to be published (click on approve). Many thanks.

Merging is blocked, Is it because we need a review from galaxyproject/training-ecology ?

Thanks a lot! Just a reminder that you are always welcome to add a news post about new tutorials on the GTN, for a bit more visibility on the homepage etc :)
