New history jumps back to original position after scrolling, when large numbers of datasets are present

The new history seems to be very jumpy with large numbers of datasets. The screencast below shows me attempting to scroll upwards, but the history always jumps back to the original position. This makes navigating quite annoying.

This is on our private server, running 23.1.

For the collection scrolling there have been significant improvements in 23.2 https://github.com/galaxyproject/galaxy/pull/16738, any chance you can try that version?
