[Feature Request] Track galaxy server locations
Not of the server but of the center managing it I guess is the important thing to show.
We have some data here: https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=1r8LJy6la-JeIrg23aZjpwVNjJDE&ll=2.486940839176235%2C0&z=2
This came out of the small galaxy admins meeting with @lldelisle last week
- [ ] add lat/lon field for servers
- [ ] collect reported lat/lon fields into a
geojson
file, e.g. how GTN is doing it: https://github.com/galaxyproject/training-material/pull/3957/ - [ ] add a map somewhere
@hexylena is there any private galaxy instance listed on the galaxy-hub?
There are some that are effectively closed, e.g.:
comments:
- "To register for a CLIMB group account, you must:"
- "1. Be a UK academic or public sector worker working on microbial genomics"
- "2. Run your own research group (i.e. be a principal investigator)"
- "2. Have a .ac.uk (or .gov.uk or .nhs.uk email account)"
- "4. Agree to our service terms and conditions"
- "The project is supported by three world class Medical Research Fellows, a comprehensive training program and two newly refurbished Bioinformatics facilities in both Warwick and Swansea."
- "The Galaxy component of CLIMB is based on GVL. CloudBridge, and CloudMan infrastructure."
but I don't think anything truly private. (Though no reason not to include those!) It'd be fine to mention them, and just mention it in the quotas
