Powering GPIO INPUT pins with 4.2V

The logic gates work on battery, assuming it to be a LIPO, we will be directly feeding the 4.2V directly to INPUT & GPIO13 pins. Isn't that an issue in the long run for the MCU.

I have been running mine on a door for a good few months now without any issues and I think the series 10K resistors will limit current.

I did find a post on an ESP8266 Facebook group supposedly from the CEO Teo Swee Ann stating that as long as the ESP was supplied with 3.3V then the inputs would tolerate 5V and many people agreed.

Also don't forget that if you use ESP-NOW then it will only power up for 200 -300mS
