browser version on Android not responding accurately to swipes

Open robertmarkbram opened this issue 10 years ago • 6 comments

Love your work!

I have been playing the browser version on my phone and really enjoy it: http://gabrielecirulli.github.io/2048/

I prefer using it in chrome over an app.

But lately I have noticed that swipes inside the grid are often interpreted as gestures to move the page instead.

Rob :)

It seems very responsive on Chrome under iOS (iPad).

Yes but Chrome on iOS is built a bit differently than android. the Android version has a bit more than the iOS. I have noticed the same issue on both my Nexus 7 and Moto X running Android 4.4.2 and the latest versions of Chrome and Chrome beta

@robertmarkbram have you changed any configuration on your phone recently? What model/Android version is it exactly? I'm testing on my LG Android phone and I don't seem to notice this issue.

I haven't made any changes to the code of the web version recently. Are you sure you're touching the board? Touching the sides will scroll the page.

Chrome version is 34.0.1847.114 SM9005 - Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Android 4.3

I may be mis-remembering if I played it much on my Android vs my iPad.. But I definitely confirm that when I try it now I AM swiping within the grid and half the time it is interpreting that as a page move gesture instead.

I am experiencing the same thing in the browser. Chrome on Android Kitkat, Nexus 5. I haven't changed any configurations as far as I know. I just noticed it last Thursday.

I have more information. I noticed that if I swipe on an empty part of the board, the browser is very likely (but not guaranteed) to scroll the page.

But if I swipe on a tile, the browser is MUCH more likely to understand it as a command for the game, and the tiles move.

So, the issue still exists, but hopefully that detail helps!
