Feature Request: Tx some packets after Downlink Activate

Open onemikedelta opened this issue 5 years ago • 2 comments

I am trying to make roaming work for hotspots and high powered local access points. I can make devices to lock and listen to hotspot by transmitting voice signal on not used tg. However, when I wanted to transmit, my moto radio transmits a downlink activate csbk even on simplex channel. Because radios cannot get any response, they reject transmitting. Is it possible to implement some feature to solve this? When hotspot receive downlink activate, it should transmit some csbk or something else data for a couple of(?) milliseconds then communication should continue as before.

Also local beaconing when connected to internet may became much more usefull.

I thin you're radio is wrong. Downlink Activate is only valid for a full duplex repeater not in simplex. I don't have a Motorola radio so I can't give any advice on it.

I think probable reason is professional systems do not have simplex hotspot like systems afaik. So, radios are trying to follow duplex call initiation process even on simplex channel. I tryed to set my simplex mmdvm(motorola) hotspot as a duplex in software. When my device starts to active site search, it transmits downlink activate. Because the transmitter is on the same frequency, mmdvm transmits the ordinary output signal and my ht locks to that frequency and starts to transmit. It even continues to tx after carrier drop. So, a 50-100ms of reply from hotspots will probably be enough for making roaming possible. (with some beaconing ofc).
