When annotating second page, reflowing to single page hides annotation

When the annotation is on the second page of a two page view, the sidebar comes out, forces the view to a single page, and the annotation is no longer visible.

Solution? Potentially force the second page to the position of the first-- only for as long as the single page mode is in place? Possible?
