There is no possibility of limiting the inventory of devices connected to the computer when the equipment is outside the organization, e.g. via VPN it connects to connected private monitor, mouse, keyboard, USB devices, etc. At the same time, the computer itself is normally inventoried.

In the import rule, check if the IP of the inventory match your VPN range IP, if yes, ignore the import (place the rule in the top). I do this for an instalation few days ago and works perfectly. With this, only the inventory when the user is at work will works.
