Unable to set parameters in 5.1.0

Trying to set parameters such as 'showDataLoadingMessage' but are unable to do so since there is no constructor. The chart flickers white and displays a message before rendering the chart which is visually very displeasing. In the older version (4.1.2) I could manually specify these in the .html asset files. Am I missing something?
