Is it possible to use this on hex maps with true rows instead of true columns?
Hello! A lot of the hex maps my group uses has true rows instead of true columns. Is it possible to add a switch to designate that when running the python script?
I'm not 100% sure what you mean ... but probably. I haven't looked at this code in a while. It's kind of messy.
I assume it's just the navigation links that would change?
Sorry for the long delay. Hexes can have one of two orientations as you probably know. (https://gamedev.stackexchange.com/questions/49718/vertical-vs-horizontal-hex-grids-pros-and-cons). It appears the ones used for the Hexenbracken maps are all set up using true columns, so you can move north and south. I was wondering if it would be easy to change so you could use the alternative, where you can move east and west instead.
Ah I get what you're saying. here is an example of a map I made using the other orientation for columns. But it's still assuming the jagged columns are a 'true row'. So the navigation is probably not very intuitive or correct. I'll think about this more.
Thanks! I'd appreciate it but understand if you don't get to it. :)
