One thing however: how can I set the server on my notebook to require an active "linking" of a new smartphone ?

When we're for example on a trade fair, we may be using the WIFI network provided by the congress center. Hence, virtually anyone would be able to simply download the app and link up to my server - allowing them to send keystrokes to my laptop.

While it's great for initial setup - I'd love to see an option that requires scanning the QR code before a smartphone is allowed to send keystrokes to a server.

I'd even prefer if during installation of the server the user would have to actively choose whether he wants to auto-connect new devices or requires explicit authentication (should be the default option).

To me it's really a security issue which prevents me from using barcodetopc in our organisation for the moment.

Also, when in the office and employees add their scanners, I'd only like to have them target their own PC and not any other in the network.

Because you can tell users over and over which buttons to click and they will still simply accept the default options and see if it works. Therefore I think it's really critical to have explicit authentication as the default option during installation.
