Mismatch between the copyright detection in `lint` and `addheader`/`annotate`

Open linozen opened this issue 3 years ago • 2 comments

When running addheader/annotate on a file that has copyright statement or license expression that is not in the first comment header, the tool should print a warning to the user (because lint parses the entire file, not only the first comment header). The warning should inform the user about this mismatch in copyright detection which might cause confusion when changing copyright later on.

Also, the documentation should probably mention this somewhere.

Currently no such check is executed, so some code change is needed in order to print a warning.
