Crashes when loading an SVG with a PNG inside into the part editor

Current Behaviour

When clicking on resistor with the right button -> Edit Part -> PCB -> Load image for view -> picking this SVG -> app crashes I want to put an image of a PCB in a background to place and route its components on top to then make a readable schematic. Since there seems to be no other way to add a regular PNG/JPEG image to the PCB view as a background, I'm trying to create a custom part with this image.
