Missing colors in some tables - LCD And Real DMD
With PinMAME 3.3, Freezy 1.8.0 r122 x86 & Sambuild_r4906 , this is the correct combination to solve the problem with missing colors in Super Mario & Street Fighter II
With a newer Sambuild you lose most colors in these games - Super Mario & Street Fighter II
If I go back to Freezy 1.71 or 1.73 with a newer Sam built it shows the colors But all the colors are not the same as the commination above
173 r118-Sam 5022.log 181 r35-Sam 4906.log 181 r35-Sam 5022.log 173 r118-Sam 4906.log
- By "lose most colors", do you mean it goes back to gray? If so, always? Only for certain games? Only for certain animations?
- By "not the same" (in 1.7x), you mean there are colors but the wrong ones?
Can you post a screenshot of a frame how it should look (e.g. with PIN2DMD), and how it looks with 1.8x?
On newer pinmame and 1.8.0 dll no lower brightness frames are displayed, meaning the 33% and 66% frames are missing and only 100% is showing up, independent from chosen color.
This sounds similar to an issue I have. With VPX on my PIN2DMD some of the brightness are showing up as grey (as opposed to a shade or orange). This does not seem to happen with FX3. In the attached photo, the background colour should be a shade or orange, but is grey.

For SF2. It looks to me like its just not reading the colours at all as I'm just getting a direct B&W version of the VPM's dmd. Where as the colourisation file has redrawn artwork that isnt showing up. I've not tried SMario but the other tables I play are all correctly showing their colours.
Let me know if you need more info/screenshots etc. Cheers
FYI, I also tested on v190 today and its the same on that.
Been ages but thought I'd update this issue - Just tested with 1.10.3.12 and this is still broken when playing standalone on a pc. Cheers
Tried with 2.0. Instead of greyscale I'm now seeing colours but they dont appear to be the right ones. Mario is very noticable as its all purples when I think it should be green. SF still isnt picking up the redrawn artwork and is simply colouring the original slides.
Oh I'm sorry. It looks like theres a seporate issue now with the tables I'm using (modded versions) not dmdext. You fixed it a few versions ago and changing to the original tables has sorted it! Thanks so much!
Thanks for the update!
