This issue is actually two-in one, since they're somewhat related.

Z80 banking is used on cart systems to access more than 64K. On CD systems, you have a few options..

  • Loading new .Z80 files
  • Loading .PAT files
  • Memory manipulation, since the sound driver lives in RAM
