Tribal Courts

We don't really know much about this area. Unfortunately this appears to be an underserved area of the law. Id like to branch juriscraper into Tribal opinions. Many of my older research links no longer work which suggest to me that collecting this data now before it may disappear is a worthwhile endeavor.

I'm not even sure how many court systems there are in Tribal areas of the United States or how often they publish but it seems like a worthwhile cause to collect these opinions. I would start at the National Indian Law Library which provides some basic information for each of the following tribes - whether the opinions are online or behind a paywall etc. Many list no court website - some list only websites for constitutions and codes but not opinions and others are collected by the big companies.

1. We need to research this issue to figure out which subset of these courts we should start with.

2. Figure out how lexis/west are collecting from some of the bigger jurisdictions if the opinions are not posted

3. Organize our models to make sure they fit correctly.

Wow, that's a lot of tribes. Let's use this issue as an Epic and create another issue for each of the tribes as we sort it out, so we have notes on each. Even a ticket that says, "I looked at the Yupiit tribe, but couldn't find any case law" is useful in the future so we can keep a log of the status and show that we tried. We should link all of the "sub-issues" to this one, so this one just becomes a reference to all the others.
