@jeniferw we are editing the top of the free.law homepage. Mike wanted your thoughts on what might be best here. Any ideas? Check out the discussion here.
I added some notes to the google doc - but the big question that I have is do we have user personas to help identify the needs of visitors to our site? So that we can optimize the landing page to make important information accessible?
Thanks for the feedback @jeniferw . We have issues for some of your suggestions already -- we're adding pages for journalists, researchers, and lawyers (#330), a link to legal aid is already on the free.law contact us page, and we'll add a button for easy access to CourtListener (#338). Check through the parent issue to see all the changes we're planning.
The one thing we don't have in the plan is adding/editing a page for donors. What are your thoughts on that one -- updates to this page?
This card is specifically for that very first section of the free.law home page (where RECAP is now), and deciding what sentence or two we want to add. Lmk if you have any specific thoughts there.
I guess I'm not really sure on what we are looking to do - I like having the mission on the top. And then can we have buttons or easy navigation for the different users immediately following? And is there a card for updating the donor page? Also what is the time frame for getting this done? So that I can prioritize my work correctly.
No set timeframe. I just added a card for updating the donor page -- do you want to add details? Not sure what you're looking for there.
Here are some more ideas for updates to the homepage. Thoughts @mlissner?
I just worked through the page. Lots of really good improvements. We should try to do the easy ones in one push and the harder ones in a second go, so we don't have to wait for logos, etc that they may need.
Just fyi...
It sounds like we don't want to make changes to the very top of the homepage after all (i.e. leave the mission right where it is). If anyone has a different opinion, let me know.
I added sub-issues for the other homepage changes we're making.
