Notes from Use in Election Law
We tried using EyeCite to a corpus of statutes, regulations, and court opinions. It found some but not all citations. It performed better with citations to court opinions and struggled the most recognizing citations to states and regulations.
Example
Democracy N.C. v. N.C. State Bd. of Elections

We also ran into some issues concerning "Id." In a case such as this screenshot, where Eyecite missed one, the Id would point to the wrong thing.
Thanks for filing this one. I think our statute finding code is fairly beta-level at this point, but that upgrading it should be fairly straightforward. Would you have any interest in working on that? We'd certainly welcome it, and it'd certainly be a helpful feature to flesh out. We can provide guidance if that'd be helpful too?
Let me know how I can help!
I think if you or somebody on your team was game to start contributing fixes to these as little pull requests, that would be amazing!
I just added some fixes here: https://github.com/BuffaloJames/eyecite.
Oh great! I'm behind on my email, but do you think you could do a PR for it?
Done. https://github.com/freelawproject/eyecite/pull/292
