WIP feat(task): add enumdns
Summary by CodeRabbit
- New Features
- Introduced a DNS reconnaissance tool that supports resolving hosts from various sources, including wordlists and Active Directory environments.
- Added command-line options for selecting mode, specifying domains, and using custom wordlists.
- Provides detailed results with domain names, result types, and IPv4 addresses in the output.
Walkthrough
A new DNS enumeration task class, enumdns, has been added to the codebase. This class introduces command-line options for DNS reconnaissance and brute-forcing, processes wordlist inputs, manages tool installation, and parses the output from a JSON Lines file to yield results or errors.

Poem
A rabbit hops through fields of names,
Sniffing out domains in DNS games.
With wordlists and tools, it scurries with glee,
Parsing JSON lines for all to see.
A hop, a skip, a recon quest—
enumdns puts queries to the test!

Note: Be mindful of the bot's finite context window. It's strongly recommended to break down tasks such as reading entire modules into smaller chunks. For a focused discussion, use review comments to chat about specific files and their changes, instead of using the PR comments.

Hi @0xlildoudou,
What does this tool brings that dnsx doesn't ? Is it worth integrating anyway ?
Hi @ocervell
It is relatively identical to dnsx, but it is always beneficial to offer several tools.
