Kill strings & Edit remaining string in SI "Reply" Message

Problem

In today's Reply experience, a Source is advised that a journalist user will be notified when they delete a reply—and that this is an action the Source should do, accordingly. In addition to the OpSec rationale. In reality, SDW users do not receive any such notification. Furthermore, this concept is a distraction from the OpSec rationale. Finally, TMI in UI text is a known anti-pattern that results in users skipping past and not processing text.

Solution

  • Kill the 1st and 3rd sentences, per below magenta strike-outs. 1st sentence adds bulk but no clear value, and the 3rd sentence misleads users, adds negligible value, and adds bulk.
  • Edit remaining string to read: Delete all replies once you’ve read them, to protect your identity in the unlikely event someone learns your passphrase.
    • I love me some "Please and thank yous," but per the design principle to influence user behavior, more often than not users just need (and in research have expressed that they want) to be told what to do. Fine line between being a dictator and being overly passive/polite; but keeping everything else and killing this, imho works nicely. killtext
