Review hardware recommendations

Describe the change

Filing an issue here as a starting point for new conversations related to the hardware we're recommending, particularly regarding the ThinkPads and especially the ones used for the Secure Viewing Station.

A trend we're seeing with modern hardware, including many new ThinkPads in particular, is that the wireless cards are being soldered directly onto the motherboard. While the antennas can be removed, and they can be disabled to varying degrees in the BIOS, even having them in the system presents a potential security concern and eliminiates the true air-gap properties needed for the SVS.

Even older ThinkPads that do have removable WiFi cards are becoming difficult for organizations to source.

We should research and document specific models that are known to be widely available, and consider newer options (potentially including, but not limited to, Framework laptops)
