Use monochromatic client icon
Because Qubes colorizes app icons in menus with the VM colors, @ninavizz is proposing we use a monochromatic icon for the client app:
Let's give it a try and see what it looks like in context. :)
That icon definitely looks nice. I just wanted to add some context on how the coloring of icons in qubes works from a discussion in https://github.com/QubesOS/qubes-issues/issues/3471#issuecomment-408503278.
[The color change works by] changing hue/saturation, but not value
So there is a way to make an icon work well even when changing color, respecting that rule. And that's the reason why some icons looks well with different colors in Qubes and others are completely ruined.
From 2022-08-15 review with @gonzalo-bulnes @eloquence:
- Keeping open for discussion purposes, but it would be best to chat about this with upstream as well, as any monochromatic logo would also be colorized (currently in yellow).
