I have also noticed inconsistencies in the use of the term "open source". I've seen open source, open-source, and Open Source. Is there a guideline for this? As an example, the FSFE maintains a word list here, and e.g. free software is "Free Software":

Not in our house style guide, https://docs.freebsd.org/en/books/fdp-primer/writing-style/. Perhaps there should be.
