Android 9 / Pie compatibility

Open smilearric opened this issue 5 years ago • 6 comments

Hello,

F-Droid shows Webthingify as incompatible with Android 9.

Do you plan to remove the upward compatibilty ceil?

I'd be glad to be able to play with Mozilla's IOT APIs with my phone sensors! Sounds exciting!

Regards

Hm, I'm not aware of having set anything that should make it incompatible with pie. In fact I primarily tested it on pie emulators, and my 8.1 phone. You may be hitting the camera api v2 capability check issue though :(

@freaktechnik I'm seeing the same incompatibility message on an LG G5 which runs Android 8.0.0. Any plans to add support for this version?

@dror3go as mentioned before, I do not understand why the app would be marked as incompatible for devices like my own, and it should work just fine if you disable compatibility checks in the f-droid app.

works fine on Carbon Rom which is Pie 9 based

I could install it this way. But after granting access to two permissions and allowing App Overlay, starting the webserver is okay but the notification is not showing up.
