Custom Fields error : setup_custom_fields() : target html not found

I see some similarly named issues open right now, but I believe this one is slightly different. I'm seeing a "Custom Fields error : setup_custom_fields() : target html not found" error message when I attempt to use the extension on product admin pages.

I believe this is occurring due to a recent design update that has not yet rolled out to all Shopify stores. I work on multiple stores and this error is only occurring on the product admin pages of stores that have received the update.
