Script error

Open OrionRandD opened this issue 4 years ago • 2 comments

./shellProgramming.sh ./shellProgramming.sh: line 22: syntax error near unexpected token (' ./shellProgramming.sh: line 22: export LSCOLORS=GxFxCxDxBxegedabagaced (each two pairs – text color and bc color; 11 pairs In total representing 11 types of files)'

???!!! I use debian...

Is this script meant to be a microbook to study the commands? If so, perhaps an ".org" file could fit better.... Only a suggestion...

Sorry for the confusion, this is a file I kept for my own record (some scratches, notes I made while learning), so it is not intended as a micro book to study. I would suggest the third .md file I made (https://github.com/frankligy/Linux_HandBook_Bioinformatics/blob/main/examples/3_understanding_linux.md) under the index section for this specific line where error popped up. (the error is because I didn't comment on the explanation)

I like your suggestion to use .org file, which would be a better choice for organizing shell scripts.

But please feel free to reach out if I can provide any additional information for any commands you'd like to know more or confused about. Happy to clarify.

@frankligy Alright. I thought of using your examples as mini-handbook for learning some cli tricks. Because I found it interesting. That's the reason I suggested an .org file. So people could turn it even into pdfs. Thx a lot, Anyways.
